NYX Slim Lip Pencil Review.

So, lip pencils aren’t a particularly exciting makeup item to me, however, they are a necessity if you need lip colours to last and last (hello, bridal work!).

Any-who, after a bit of research and swatch reviews I decided to try out the NYX Slim Lip Pencils, for only $6.95 each I didn’t have much to loose (around $7  I guess hehe).

The 10 NYX pencils I decided on.

The 10 NYX pencils I decided on.

The range has an incredible SIXTY! shades to choose from, honestly picking your colours is the hardest part.

I ended up choosing 10 colours that vary from a nude pink right through to a deep currant colour.

These liners are incredibly smooth, pigmented and easy to apply (no nasty catching and skipping across the lip- yay!).

These are comparable to lip liners that cost 5 or 6 times as much (MAC anyone?), and NYX are cruelty free unlike MAC which makes my heart happy.

Left to right: Top row- Peekaboo, Sand Pink, Pale Pink, Nectar and Flower. Bottom row- Citrine, Bloom, Currant, Hot Red and Plum.

Peekaboo: Neutral brown with warm undertones.

Sand Pink: A true pink, not as bright as Barbie pink, but in a similar class.

Pale Pink: A more yellow toned pink. Great subtle colour.

Nectar: Peachy colour with a bit of shimmer. Still not completely sold on this one.

Flower: A very light, almost pastel pink, great for light lip colours.

Citrine: A very usable colour. Perfect bridal shade.

Bloom: A pink with a plum undertone. Another gorgeous shade.  A very popular colour at the moment.

Currant: A very dark burgundy colour, will be great for ombre lips.

Hot Red: NYX describe it as a “traffic stopping red”, very accurate. You always need a true red liner, a classic.

Plum: A very wearable plum shade, not too dark and not too purple.

All in all I am thrilled with these liners and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

To sum it up…

Cost:
$6.95 per pencil. BARGAIN.
